Alumni Association

Epworth Alumni Association is the official organization of former students, employees and friends of Epworth Children’s Home. For a complete listing of the Alumni Board of Directors, please click here.

Purpose:
The purposes of this Association is:

To foster acquaintance, friendship, and fellowship among former students, employees and friend of Epworth Children’s Home;
To develop active local and regional alumni association chapters;
To conduct reunions and homecomings;
To promote the objectives of Epworth Children’s Home among friends, churches, businesses and organizations;
To encourage members to financially support the on-going programs of Epworth Children’s Home to serve children and families.
   

Official Meetings:
The group composing this organization shall find fellowship and expression through a homecoming and an annual meeting of the Association, held each year on the second Saturday and Sunday in June on the campus of Epworth Children’s Home or as otherwise designated by its membership.

Cook-Out for Kids

Epworth would like to say Thank You to the Alumni Association for the success of the Cook-Out for Kids BBQ held on April 9th. The alumni raised nearly $20,000 for Epworth! We were blessed with a beautiful day to enjoy BBQ, delicious desserts and live music. Thank you for making this event a huge success!

 

Homecoming Celebration

Our Alumni Association currently has a membership of over 500 and we encourage these members to come home every June for a Homecoming Celebration. This is a time for reflection and renewal of friendships. The next Alumni Homecoming weekend will be June 25-26, 2011.

Epworth Alumni Homecoming

June 25—26, 2011

Saturday, June 25
We will have a fish fry again this year. For those who arrive around lunch time, please bring sodas and snack food. Hotdogs will be provided by the Association and served for lunch. Alumni coming only for the Fish Fry (and chicken fingers), please bring sodas and/or a dessert.

2:30 PM —4:30 PM       Entertainment by the band, “The Main Street Connection”
4:30 PM —5:30 PM       Dinner to be Served
11:00 AM - 6:00 PM      Silent Auction: Be sure to bring an item for the Silent Auction. Forms will be available for you

                                         to complete for each item you contribute .

Sunday, June 26
On Sunday, we will have a covered dish luncheon as we have always done in past years. Each alumni should bring a vegetable, meat dish, or dessert that will feed 6-8 people. Tea, ice, salt and pepper will be provided by Epworth — and maybe some peanut butter ice cream…

Silent Auction — The Silent Auction will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM—6:00 PM. New or gently used items are acceptable. Canned and baked goods are also welcomed. Be sure to fill out a form giving (1) your name, (2) what the item is, and (3) a beginning bid. Bids can begin at $1.00. Please bid in even dollars (no cents). Items that are not sold on Saturday will be available for bid on Sunday. Anyone not coming on Saturday, but would like to participate in the Silent Auction may bring their item on Sunday.
