Coordinator of Residential Services/Program Director
Reports to: Chief Program Officer
Major Role Summary:
To develop, direct, manage, and lead all residential services of Epworth Children’s Home; to serve as an innovative, energetic member of the Administrative Team; and to model best practice approaches to residential child care.
Job Description:
• Administer the operation of the Residential Program according to applicable performance standards and requirements as set forth by DSS, DHEC, Epworth policy and procedure, and national accreditation
• Develop and supervise management personnel responsible for all Residential services
• Advise the Administrative Team concerning Residential Program developments, plans, and needs
• Collaborates with other leaders to develop and implement training plans for staff, with special attention to the continued implementation of the CARE training program as developed by the Cornell University Residential Child Care Project
• Ensures adequate supervisory coverage for the Residential Program, including on-call support 24 hours each day throughout the year
• Provides input to the Chief Financial Officer concerning the development of budget and ensures adherence to budgeting guidelines for all Residential services
• Active in professional groups and with other agencies, including the South Carolina Association of Children’s Homes & Family Services
• Monitors trends, legislation, and current research in the field of residential care
• Assumes other duties as may be assigned by the President and Chief Program Officer
Prerequisites for this Position:
• Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field with a concomitant professional license
• Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years in a supervisory capacity in a residential child care setting
• Knowledge of child/adolescent growth and development with a proven record of applying such knowledge within a residential child care environment
• Knowledge of best practice in crisis intervention
• Proficient in software programs necessary to administration, communication, and training, such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Must be able to pass standard background checks, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Registry, and Sex Offenders Registry
• Must reside within a reasonable driving distance to Epworth’s campus due to the nature of the position
• Comfortable with and supportive of Epworth’s heritage of faith-based service, mission, and values
