It’s that time of year again to order your

Annual Work Day Offering materials!

As a UMC pastor in SC, you are a part of a rich history of providing an opportunity for faithful United Methodists to generously support the children who call Epworth home. As you can see from the story on the reverse of the bulletin insert provided, the staff and volunteers of Epworth truly embrace CARE for the children who reside at Epworth. You and your members make it possible for children like Dana to be able to find safety and direction as they heal from abuse or loss.

A $6.00 per member minimum gift goal has been set for every church in the Conference. Many of our churches are faithfully meeting and succeeding that goal, while others are not giving at all. Dana is a testimony to the saving work of Christ that is happening on Epworth’s campus everyday. I ask you to commit to Dana and the more than 70 other children receiving CARE at Epworth with your gifts and offerings.

If you make the appeal, your people will respond to the children’s needs. Your voice and visible enthusiasm for the ministry of Epworth will go a long way toward helping your congregation reach the $6.00 per member minimum goal. To ensure the Work Day Offering is successful and encourages missions in your church:

• Order and hang posters by Sunday, August 7th, 2011.
• Print the bulletin announcements on the designated Sundays.
• Draw attention to the offering through announcements by allowing your LCR a ministry moment.
• Order and use bulletin inserts and envelopes in each bulletin on Sunday, September 11th, 2011.
• Take time to thank your congregation for their faithful participation by announcing the total amount raised for the ministry.
