United Methodist Churches

Epworth Children's Home was established in 1895 as Epworth Orphange by the Methodist people of South Carolina.  To this day, the South Carolina United Methodist Conference remains dedicated to the mission of Epworth. 

Epworth is authorized by the Conference to have two annual Sunday offerings - Mother's Day and Work Day.  These are the only source of financial support we receive from the Conference.  Epworth is not an apportioned ministry of the Conference.

Thank you for your support in 2009.  We look forward to a successful 2010.  The Mother's Day Offering will take place on Sunday, May 9, 2010 and the Work Day Offering will take place on Sunday, September 12, 2010. 

The per member giving average for all South CarolinaUM churches is $4.48.  Our goal is $6.00 per member.  Over 300 churches in the Conference gave $0 to Epworth in 2008.

Epworth offers a unique opportunity for chuches to learn more about who we are and what we do through our Speaker's Bureau.  Please call Pastor Megan Gray at 803.256.7394 or email mgray@epworthsc.org to arrange for an Epworth staff member to visit your church during Sunday worship, Sunday School, special dinners or group meetings.

We appreciate the involvement of the South Carolina United Methodist Conference and all of the United Methodist Churches in South Carolina.  These churches are truly making a difference in the lives of the children placed at Epworth.
