JOB SUMMARY. The Communications Specialist works with the Senior Director of Development and staff to develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies to achieve Epworth’s mission of serving children, youth and families. This includes: maintaining brand equity and marketing integrity through collaboration to extend consistent branding and messaging in all communications, creating, writing, designing, and editing all marketing materials for ECH service areas, coordinating special projects and events to advance the mission, writing and designing social media posts, as well as maintaining the website. The Communications Specialist will also serve as a public speaker to represent Epworth to deepen involvement with donors and collaborate with staff of press and media releases.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications or Journalism with a minimum of two years experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, WordPress, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop required. Advanced knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Mastery of marketing, communications, graphic design, web design, digital and social media. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of audiences. Must be able to comply with all applicable contracts and service models. Must be able to pass standard background checking, including: drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry, and Sex Offenders Registry.
