Persons leaving planned gifts at or above the $25,000 level will be acknowledged as members of the Epworth Society of 1896. Wish List Donations
Unrestricted monetary gifts are of the greatest need; however if you would like to purchase particular items of necessity, we are currently in need of gift cards for incoming residents. Gift cards from Target, Kohl’s and Wal-Mart are preferred. Other gift in kind donations are accepted on an as needed basis. For a current wish list, click here.
Unfortunately due to regulations and staffing limitations, Epworth can not accept used clothing, linens, toys or stuffed animals. In addition, we have a sufficient amount of school supplies. Check back here regularly for a complete list of items needed.
Planning a Birthday Party for Your Child?
On occasion, Epworth receives questions from parents regarding the plans for their child’s birthday party. “In lieu of gifts for my child, we would like to collect gifts for the children of Epworth. Is that possible?”
It is possible, and we are happy to meet with you and your child when you drop off the gifts to explain how the gifts will be used. When collecting gifts, please note that toys and stuffed animals are not needed. We collect those items specifically for children during their birthdays and holidays. These items are collected based on each child’s personal wish list.
Instead, we recommend Birthday Parents request gift cards in any amount for Target, Wal-Mart or Kohls. These cards are used as children first arrive to Epworth. Most often they come with nothing, and they have never been shopping. Gift cards make it possible for Epworth staff to take new residents shopping so they have an opportunity to pick out their own clothes, undies, shoes and personal items. It adds a bit of dignity to what has happened to them and it helps establish trust between the staff and child. Monetary gifts are also welcomed.
For more information or to schedule a time to drop off gifts, please contact Sherri Mims at 803-256-7394 or email@example.com.
Volunteers have a very special place at Epworth. Volunteer service includes a broad range of areas. Some opportunities are designed to build healthy relationships with children, other projects may be focused on creating a strong foundation for the program, while others focus on grounds and building maintenance. Many individuals and groups are needed throughout the year to assist Epworth in meeting the needs of our children and program. Read More about the Volunteer Program.
