JOB SUMMARY: Epworth Children’s Home seeks an individual with experience working with children, adolescents, and families to provide daily care to children and youth in placement. Ability to teach basic life skills. Must understand the importance of being a constant positive role model. Possess a spirit of team work and community support. Open to learning new models of child care. Maintain calm during crisis and understand the value of consistency. Excellent relationship skills.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service Field, preferred High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Demonstrated ability to use sound discretion and judgment in developing and implementing decisions. Significant life experience in working with children and adolescents (i.e. group residential counselor, church/youth experience, camp counselor, etc.) Must be able to pass standard background checks, including drug screen, employment physical, SLED, DSS Central Registry, FBI and Sex Offenders Registry. Has a belief system and engages in faith practices that are compatible with those of the United Methodist Church.
This position allows employees to work multiple days and overnight as needed.
~Daytime PRN hours : 7am to 7pm
~Overnight PRN hours: 7pm to 7am
