Dear Friend of Epworth Children’s Home,
I am contacting you to encourage you to lend your support to the request to Richland County Council from Epworth Children’s Home in the amount of $75,000 for the Higher Education/Independent Living Program. As you are probably aware the program has a high success rate of preventing homelessness by providing safe supervised housing for young people who are aging out of foster care or while they attend college or engage in job training.
The request is primarily to help with retrofitting a large dormitory on the former Carolina Children’s Home campus for studio-style apartments for the older Epworth residents.
