Epworth Selected for Rite Aid KidCents Program

Check Presentation RiteAidCroppedSquareRite Aid selected Epworth Children’s Home as an official KidCents charity for the launch of its new charitable program to support child-focused charities.  KidCents is a program created by The Rite Aid Foundation that allows Rite Aid customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate their change to help support child-focused charities.

As part of the launch of this new program, Rite Aid presented Epworth a $10,000 donation at the local Rite Aid location on Rosewood Drive in Columbia.  The gift will be used to provide comprehensive care for the children who live at Epworth.  These children, ages four to 18, come to Epworth from fractured family systems and most have experienced abuse and neglect.  Epworth provides a safe and healthy place to live as well as educational opportunites, counseling, medical care and spiritual enrichment.

Epworth supporters and Rite Aid customers are encouraged to register for the KidCents program, elect to round up their Rite Aid purchases and donate their change to Epworth.  Once enrolled customers are encouraged to tell family and friends to participate and select Epworth as well.  Through the foundation’s Step Up Fund, the RiteAid Foundation will provide $500 in matching funds for every $500 raised by Epworth supporters.

About Epworth Children’s Home

Since 1896, Epworth Children’s Home has been a place for children to grow, learn and be loved. Children ages four to 18 come to Epworth from impaired family systems and our purpose is to break the cycle of abuse, neglect and shame and replace it with lives of self-respect, responsibility and productivity. This is done through a nurturing and loving community that provides individualized care in the five primary areas of education, counseling, medical care, physical and social development, and spiritual enrichment. Epworth Children’s Home provides group residential care for children and youth from all over South Carolina without regard to race, religion, national origin or ability to pay.
