Early Intervention Center Preschool Program

The Preschool Program opened in 1980 to provide a specialized program for young children who have developmental delays and disabilities or who would be considered at risk for developmental delays.  Typically developing children are accepted into the program, as well, and serve as language and behavior models for their peers.

  • Safe, nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment for children, as well as a support system for their families.
  • Serves children who are one to five years of age, usually residing in Richland and Lexington counties of South Carolina.
  • Three-hour morning program that operates Monday-Friday.
  • Only ten students are accepted each day, and families may choose a two, three, four, or five days-per-week program.
  • Operates with three teachers and a teacher’s aide, maintaining a 1:4 teacher-student ratio.
  • Parents and staff work closely together to develop and implement services to address the developmental needs of each individual child.
  • Assessments and Parent-Teacher Conferences are held at least bi-annually to ensure continual progress towards individual goals.
  • Nationally accredited by Council on Accreditation.
  • Participates in ABC Quality, a program of SC-DSS, that requires compliance with quality standards beyond licensing.
  • Affordable tuition: the SC Voucher is accepted (formerly known as the ABC Voucher).
