Desmond, a resident in our Independent Living program, was recently awarded a car by the Foster Parent Association of South Carolina. The car, a 2002 Toyota Camry, was donated by an individual who wanted the car to be used to help foster children pursue their academic and/or career goals. Desmond fit the criteria perfectly! He is a hard worker, who gives his all no matter how big or small the job may be. He is a manager of a local restaurant, and also Epworth Ice Cream’s first intern!
Desmond also completed the Southeastern Chapter’s National Safety Council driver’s training program prior to getting his license. Now that he has his license and a new set of wheels, he is able to make even bigger strides to achieve his dreams. Thank you to the Foster Care Association for making this happen for Desmond! Congratulations Desmond!
