Before Sierra arrived at Epworth, she was caught in the midst of a destructive cycle. Her mother struggled with substance abuse and neglected her. The neglect became so evident that the Department of Social Services removed Sierra from her mother’s care and placed the ten-year-old girl with her step-father.
Epworth Food Truck Rodeo
The Friends of Epworth present the third annual Epworth Children’s Home Food Truck Rodeo sponsored by JTs Automotive Group on Tuesday, September 15 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM, on Epworth’s campus at 2900 Millwood Avenue in Columbia. The event is open to the community and admission and parking is free, however donations are appreciated.
Epworth Awarded Four Year COA Accreditation
Epworth Children’s Home, located on 32 serene acres in Columbia, SC, has been nationally accredited for a period of four years by the Council on Accreditation (COA) for its outstanding children’s resident group home programs and services. This accreditation reflects Epworth’s long history of excellence and accordance with the highest levels of quality standards, as well as the agency’s sound organizational infrastructure.

Epworth’s Annual Mother’s Day Offering Helps Children like Holly
For most of her childhood, Holly’s* life was in disarray. Her father traveled a lot for work and was not around much. Her mom struggled to take care of Holly on her own and often was emotionally unstable. When her parents were together, there were arguments and abuse. One day, a particularly violent episode between the parents caught the attention of neighbors and Holly and her sister were removed from the home for safety concerns.
Epworth to Participate in Midlands Gives
On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, Epworth Children’s Home will be one of 250 non-profit organizations in the Midlands of South Carolina to participate in the Central Carolina Community Foundation’s Midlands Gives Campaign. All gifts designated to Epworth through Midlands Gives will help provide comprehensive care for the children at Epworth.

The annual Mother’s Day Offering is the first of two special Sundays designated by the Annual Conference of our church to support the ministry of Epworth.
Cookout for Kids to Benefit Epworth
The Epworth Children’s Home Alumni Association’s annual “Cookout for Kids” fundraiser features barbeque fresh off the grill, homemade baked goods, live music, and vintage automobiles. The 7th annual event will be held on Saturday April 11, 2015 on Epworth’s campus from 11:00 to 4:00.

Rite Aid selected Epworth Children’s Home as an official KidCents charity for the launch of its new charitable program to support child-focused charities. KidCents is a program created by The Rite Aid Foundation that allows Rite Aid customers to round up their purchases to the nearest dollar and donate their change to help support child-focused charities.
